Team Camp

Cost: $175 plus cost of food

Details: This year, we will be holding the 16th Annual Vacaville High Cross Country Team Leadership Camp at Camp Richardson, Lake Tahoe on August 6th through August 10th, 2023. The entire coaching staff (5) and assigned parent chaperones plan to take up to 30 athletes for a few days of team-bonding, fun, and high altitude training. We have reserved 2 Group Tent CampSites (addresses to follow) for lodging at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe. Cost of camp is $175 per athlete (FOOD NOT INCLUDED...see below), which includes the cost of lodging, transportation, rental of lake recreation equipment, State Park entrance, Ice, Shower tokens, and a pizza feast the last night. A non-guaranteed refundable $50 deposit is due by July 23rd in order to confirm your spot on the travel roster for the initial invitations, which have been posted in the Team GroupMe today (7/16). We will be extending additional invitations through July 24th to those deemed qualified as students complete Athletic Clearance paperwork and meet the Commitment and Training Expectations of the program. These invitations are prioritized for those that have successfully fulfilled the attendance and communication expectations previously stated for Summer conditioning and for those that have proven capable of safely managing the rigorous training to be completed at 6,000ft!!!

Students, along with supervision from coaches, will be responsible to form small groups to collaborate on the purchasing of food and meal prep throughout the week as well as partnering on shared tent space for lodging. We have a limited number of tents allowed per site so we are asking for groups between 4-8 students. Traditionally, students have done an excellent job identifying supplies (tents/stoves/lanterns/etc.) already possessed and what can be contributed to the experience...the program also has supplies where needed. Additional money may be useful for snacks and souvenirs as desired.

- Campers will enjoy training along the beautiful Tahoe Basin running trails, hiking, water recreation like kayaks, Paddle boards, etc., a trip to beautiful Sand Harbor, Team Building & Competitions, and relaxing time lakeside!

● A list of “Things to Bring” and a detailed itinerary will be provided as we draw near to camp. I plan to hold a brief Informational Meeting for parents to provide further details and answer questions once we have distributed the majority of Invitations (Estimated July 24th).
